First and foremost let me explain my absence in the blogging world....WORK. That's right, after a two year hiatus, I've re-entered the work force. To be more specific, I now work third shift (11pm to 7 am) three to four days a week. On top of which I'm also taking a full load of classes this semester in hopes of speeding through the rest of the nursing program. Needless to say its been a hard transition for all of us and I'm still trying to work out balancing everything and getting more than 2 hours of sleep on the days that I work! By the way...kudos to my wonderful husband for helping to fill in for me while I'm away.
On to the little girl! The month of August went by fast with little incident. Abuela and Abeulo came down for a visit and Emma enjoyed spending time getting to know them better. We filled our weekends with trips to the parks, The Children's Museum, the Natural Science Center and whatever else we could find.
Getting some help from Abuela
Loving up on Baby
Need I even make a comment!
September seemed to start off on a good note which quickly turned sour, I'll explain more later. Luke and I celebrated our 4th anniversary...
Picasso and Gammy
As for October... so far we've started out the month with a sinus infection :( I'm guessing we're going to be in for a rough winter.
As far as things Miss E has been doing:
Miss Priss finally cut all four canine teeth over the past two months. They aren't completely through but we're hoping the worst of it is over...fingers crossed.
Trying out Mommy's shoes
Well, she's really taking off with talking. She now can put 3 or more words together and continues to sign with us. Some of the cute things she says....
"Bless Mommy/Daddy/Puppy" -after we sneeze
"Mommy ride bike" - when I'm doing traction at the Chiropractor
"Ammamal"- for animal
"Hi baby!" - mimicking me when I see the puppies
"Ote" - her name for our neighbor's donkey named, Don Quixote
Pushing trucks on the barn floor
Em has also, in the past week or so, started to use the potty!!! It came as a big surprise but I've always heard that when they're ready, they are ready. She's doing really well. Over the weekend and then again today she's had only ONE wet diaper through out the day!!! Luke and I are so proud of her!!!
Did I mention E's growing sense of independence? This is what happens when she tries to dress herself
E and her "friends" looking for the deer
I think that's about it as far as catch up, although I'm sure I'm forgetting something. We've got a busy, busy month ahead of us. Gammy is coming down this coming weekend for our annual "Walk to Remember" in honor of Jackson, Daddy's birthday is the following week so Abuela, Abuelo and possibly E's great Uncle Larry are coming for a visit, school pictures the following week, trick or treating with the daycare the Wednesday before Halloween and then E's very first plane ride Halloween weekend when we fly home for the weekend!! Needless to say, I should have lots of things to blog about, let's hope I can find the time.
Until then.....
Great work Kelly! You do a wonderful job with her blog. Luke
