Okay, I'm getting back on the blogging train with a post for the second week in a row! Kudos to me :)
First I want to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful husband!!!!!
(You're getting SOOO old....just kidding!)
As always, life in the Donovan-Mendenhall household has been full of adventures and exciting stuff; fall festivals, potty training, animal visits, shopping, etc. and this past weekend Gammy (or as E calls her, Ge ge) was able to come down and join in the fun.
Friday afternoon Gammy and I went shopping for little Miss as we have a photo shoot with the wonderfully talented Alisha Schwanke (
http://www.alishaschwanke.com/) in a couple of weeks. We were able to find some cute things so keep checking back here for a preview on how the session goes!
Saturday morning we braved the cool, wet weather and ventured out to Colfax for the annual Walk to Remember in honor of Jackson. It was great to see some friends, introduce our little ones to each other and just spend some time remembering Jackson and all the other babies angels. Please feel free to check out the Heartstrings website (the organization behind the Walk to Remember) and learn more, make a donation or possibly even refer someone you know who may benefit from their services

Post nap on Saturday the girls (Daddy went hunting) made a trip in to Reidsville to check out their Fall Festival. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take but one picture....

...I tried unsucessfully to get E to take a pony ride (which was the picture I was looking for) but here she is outside the pony ring watching all the other kids. After the festival we came home and just hung out around the property. Gammy and E had a great time hanging out down at the dock throwing leaves in the water and watching them float....

and sharing stories and jokes with each other.....

apparently this was a pretty funny one!
Sunday we spent some time down at the neighbors feeding the animals before Gammy had to go home. E has developed a new found love for their donkey whom she calls "Otie", so much so that I think we may have to get one of our own :0) Here she is feeding "Otie".

Emma seemed to be very affected by Gammy leaving this weekend. For a few hours after she left she continued to ask for her and then yesterday when we pulled into the garage after school she asked for her again. (The bond between the two of them is amazing to see.) So last night we decided to see if Emma would talk with her Ge-ge on the phone....we managed to capture some of it on video....
Gotta love it!!!
Aside from all that fun, we're still working on the potty training (which is going exceptionally well), learning to identify all the colors and counting. Busy, busy, busy and I'm loving every minute of it!
We've got another busy weekend ahead. Los Abuelos and Emma's great Uncle Larry are coming down for a visit and to celebrate Daddy's birthday, we've got our first class at The Little Gym and we're going to go to the local pumpkin patch....stay tuned for pictures!
Have a Happy Tuesday!
Nice job on the blog but the video on my laptop keeps stuttering and things are not clear.
ReplyDeleteEmma is something else again what with the walking all around while talking on the phone...can't imagine where that comes from. Pretty soon she will be doing the laundry and housekeeping while talking with me just like her mother.
I cannot wait till you all come up...I can never get enough of all of you including Charlie!
Happy Birthday, Luke!
Love mom aka gege!
