Water Weekend and Much More

What a wonderful weekend (well, at least part of it) we had. Friday I decided to take Emma over to our neighbors for a little "petting zoo" fun. These are the same neighbors I've posted about before that have a million animals on their property. Emma got to see some brand new baby chickens, the nanny-goat "Mary Poppins", "Smoke" the horse and about 50 (and I literally mean 50) hound dogs. She truly loved every minute of it, so much in fact that Luke took her back over there on Saturday morning :)
(Totally unrelated but I just love this picture. Here she's "walking" her puppy around the house, I think its just adorable to watch.)
After another round at the "petting zoo" and a quick lunch, I decided the weather was just perfect to try out E's bathing suit. So we pulled the garden hose out and let the girl go to town....and that's just what she did :0)
Although the weather was significantly warm, the water from the hose wasn't and we had to take a few breaks from the water play so that little Miss wouldn't suffer from hypothermia. She however didn't see what the big deal was with being so cold that she looked like she was having a seizure, and wasn't exactly a happy camper when we turned the water off.

I guess when you're having this much fun it doesn't matter how cold you are! Man, I'm so looking forward to this summer when it can be water play everyday!!!

Playing out in the sun and water sure does bring on an appetite so to complete the day we decided to try an ice cream cone for the first time. I don't think she really knew what to do with it but she seemed awfully content to stick her finger inside the cone and lick the ice cream off her finger...whatever gets the job done I guess.

And of course all that playing and ice cream sure does bring on the thirst. So what better way to quench the thirst then to enjoy a Miller High Life!!

We're not quite sure if it was the playing with all the animals or with the water or maybe even the beer (just kidding!) but WOW....Emma slept like a champ that afternoon!!!
Hope you all had as great of a weekend as we did.

  2. Kelly,

These are great pictures...I especially liked the little movie. Her laugh is very cute.

Oh yes! She looks like a quality candidate to become a Jayhawker!!! We will have to take her to visit the campus. She would fit right in with all those Kansas Cowboys & Cowgirls!!
