Miss E, after all her allergic reactions, was finally referred to an Immunologist/Allergist for a consult and allergy testing. I guess I should back up a bit and provide some background info. I know I posted a while ago about her reaction to Augmentim(http://emmakatherine2008.blogspot.com/2009/07/thats-life.html) but on top of that, after a dinner out a few weekends ago we had another case of hives but this time with an unknown cause.
I was a little hesitant to brave the allergy testing appointment by myself but I knew it was something that had to be done. So Emma and I got an early start (we had an 830am appointment time in Greensboro) I loaded up the diaper bag with crayons, books, toys, etc. and kept my fingers crossed for a good experience.
Despite the appointment taking two hours, numerous different needle sticks, a screaming toddler, and a whole lot of information thrown my way....I would say it was a good experience. The final diagnosis after two hours.....negative to all allergens they tested her for, a new course of treatment for her ezcema, asthma, two different inhalers, a nasal steroid, an epi-pen, and the knowledge that she will have to endure more testing when she is older.
While I hadn't set out to capture this experience on camera, one thing that keeps E occupied is "posing" for the camera so I figured why not! The quality isn't very good since they were taken from my cell phone but you can get the idea.

Patiently waiting for the doctor

A sticker and some hugs from Mom finally got her calmed down
Check out all those sticks!
Oh just another adventure in the Donovan-Mendenhall household :)
(UPDATE: After unsucessfully treating her ezcema with the above prescribed steriod creams/lotions and simply getting fed-up with all these drugs...it looks like I may have found the miracle cure for ezcema and I encourage you all who suffer with this to give it a try!http://www.kissmyface.com/barsoappages/pureolivebar.html)
