The weather has been terribly hot so far this summer so we've been spending a lot of time at the pool.
**Side note: (Bypass if you aren't interested in listening to me rant.) Pools here work a little different from home. Now, I never would have expected that our little dead-end road would have a "community" pool but I never imagined that the majority of neighborhoods wouldn't either (even Greensboro). Apparently the thing to do is join a "Swim and Tennis Club". I wasn't quite sure what to think of this so decided we would start by going to the local park's pool. Its pretty nice; a gradual entrance for little kids, a water slide, etc. but its a really tiny pool. So I'm on the hunt for a "Swim Club"!! Hopefully I'll get this figured out soon so we won't have to be cramped in Bur-Mil's tiny pool with 100+ other people.
Anyway, sorry for the rant....
Regardless of the size of the pool, Em LOVES the water. Her favorite thing to do at the pool: stand on the edge and jump in to Mommy and Daddy. I'm telling you, this kid is fearless!!
Here we are during "break".
Aside from spending time at the pool we've been busy hitting up all the local playgrounds, another favorite of E's. Our now typical Saturday morning consists of getting up early, heading to one of the bakeries in GSO for breakfast and then heading over to the park. E will literally spend hours on the swings but if you should happen to convince her to do something else its immediately either going down the slides or jumping off the platforms. Again, fearless!
Here we are at Country Park running through the tunnel.
All in all, I guess I can't complain too much about the extreme heat for spending hours at the playground in this weather tends to lead to long naps and easy bedtimes :)
Hope you all are surviving the heat!! Happy Summer!!
