Happy Mother's Day!

After such an eventful week it was great to just relax on Mother's Day. We didn't have anything particular planned, Luke said we could do whatever I wanted to do. So, we started the morning by just enjoying the beautiful weather and playing outside in the yard.

Mommy and her little girl :)

Emma and I in front of Jackson's tree.

A couple of weeks ago I "made" a sandbox for E in her play-yard and although it took a while for her to warm up to it, she seems to really enjoy it. Here she is preparing to scoop!

This is actually a ring from her pool (that she sadly doesn't "fit" into anymore) but we've recycled it into a "crown" and she now loves playing "princesses"! (Oh what have I done, hopefully she'll lose interest soon)

After E's nap we decided we'd drive downtown and grab some ice cream and check out a local playground. I know, it seems pretty weird to drive to a playground when we have one in our backyard but I was hoping since it was such a nice day that there would be some kids out for E to play with.

E loving her banana pudding ice cream.

Just like I had hoped there was a ton of kids at the playground. Luke and I both took turns taking her down the slides, she got to do some swinging (another thing she loves) and they even had a little creek that we got to go splashing in.

Striking her model pose! She absolutely loves to pick flowers (I'm even training her to pick the weeds in the garden.) and thinks it so neat when I put them behind her ear.

Climbing on the playground with Mommy :)

Watching the other kids and enjoying the ride.

Too busy watching the other kids to bother with a picture of her and Daddy...oh well!
Overall it was a wonderful day but I definitely missed spending time with my Mom. Being a mother has definitely given me a whole new respect for everything my Mother has done for me....thanks Mom, I love you!!!
Hope all you Mom's had a wonderful Mother's day.
