Well, we're back at home with our new one year old and so far its been a good few days of now having an official toddler on our hands.
E's birthday weekend started out great with a nice 2 hour morning nap before the long, dreaded car ride home. Luckily, the long nap proved helpful as we had a much happier car ride which made for a much happier Mommy and Daddy :) Again E seemed to have no problem adjusting to the "new" surroundings and settled right in at Gammy's house.
Saturday was spent getting ready for the big birthday bash and although the weather was a bit on the chilly side, Emma did get to venture outside to the neighborhood tot-lot! (A big hit!!) Sunday got off to a bumpy start with a little snow/rain and a short morning nap but Emma surprised Mommy by actually sleeping well past the start of her party. (Mommy had to wake her up!) Emma seemed to really enjoy all the activity that day and although it took a few minutes, she seemed to warm right up to everyone. All in all, I think it was a great first birthday and we couldn't thank everyone enough for coming and spending a few hours with us! And of course, a big special thank you to Gammy for allowing us to have the party at her house, making the wonderful food and just in general for putting up with all the chaos!!!!
